RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY / THEFT OF FIREARMS

Sheriff Lance Bonds states that on Monday October 24th, 2016, a report of seven guns stolen from the Alco area was reported. Later in the day, two Searcy County men were named suspects, with the assistance of the Searcy County Sheriff's Department.  During a joint investigation, two search warrants were executed in Searcy County (Oxley and St. Joe) in conjunction with the Alco burglary.

During the execution of the Oxley search warrant, a 22 caliber pistol and the front end of a barrel which had been sawed from a shotgun stolen from the Alco burglary, were recovered.  During the execution of the St. Joe search warrant, a number of guns, including several from the Alco burglary as well as narcotics and drug paraphernalia were recovered.

The names of the suspects are not being released until formal charges have been filed.  Charges are expected to be sent to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office this week.

Sheriff Bonds commends the Searcy County Sheriff's Department for their cooperation and assistance in this investigation.
