Sheriff Lance Bonds states that over the last two months, investigators with Stone County Sheriff's Department and the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force were involved in an undercover narcotics operation involving Mark Wesley Whitfield of Mountain View. During the investigation, officers purchased narcotics from Whitfield at his residence on three separate occasions.

On March 14, 2017, the Stone County Sheriff's Department, 16th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Mountain View Police Department executed a search at Whitfield's residence on Linn Avenue in Mountain View. During the search warrant, officers located and seized various narcotics and drug paraphernalia.  Mark Whitfield was taken into custody without incident  and transported to the Stone County Detention Center.  His next scheduled court date is set for March 21, 2017.

• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia w/ Purpose to Analyze, Pack or contain Marijuana Class C Felony
• Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule IV (XANAX) w / Purpose to Deliver Class D Felony
• Possession of Controlled Substance Methamphetamine less than 2 grams Class D Felony
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia w / Purpose to Use Methamphetamine Class D Felony
• Possession of Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone) w/ Purpose to Deliver Class C Felony

• Possession of Controlled Substance (Marijuana) w/ Purpose to Deliver, less than 14 grams Class A Misdemeanor

• Delivery of Controlled Substance Schedule VI (Marijuana) more than 14 grams but less than 4 ounces Class D Felony (3 Counts)
