Pursuit ends in arrest

Reference: (Felony Pursuit) Charles (C.J.) Youngberg

On the evening of September 18, 2014, ASP Trooper Clint Vaughn, the Stone County Sheriff’s Department, and the Mountain View Police Department were involved in a pursuit of suspect Charles Youngberg in Stone County.
Youngberg was wanted on several on several local warrants and was wanted as an absconder with the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections. Trooper Vaughn ended the pursuit by utilizing the Precisian Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver as the suspect entered the city limits of Mountain View, Arkansas.
The suspect regained control of his vehicle after the PIT and was struck by Sheriff Lance Bonds’ vehicle, which effectively ended the pursuit. As a result of this pursuit, the Arkansas State Police vehicle and Sheriff’s Department vehicle sustained heavy damage. Youngberg is currently incarcerated in the Stone County Detention Center, pending numerous felony and misdemeanor charges.
